This Saturday, the death toll in the US surpasses 20,000, as approval was made, of the disaster declaration, making Wyoming the 50th state in the US under this declaration. This declaration comes in Wyoming 22 days after New York has been declared under a disaster emergency. It has never been in history that every state in the US has been declared of disaster emergency.
The US has been declared as the most affected country, which has surpassed “Italy”, according to research by John Hopkins University.
After the declaration was requested, Governor Mark, mentioned in the statement that although Wyoming has not reached in a disaster state but declaring emergency there, will make sure that proper resources and aid have been reached when needed upon.
Along with Wyoming, the US Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico all are in a disaster emergency.
“American Samoa” is the only state, left without any disaster emergency.
Face coverings, for people who are buying food at restaurants, and bars have been made mandatory in New Jersey. New Jersey gov. Murphy made this mandatory, from Monday at 8.pm. Locals have already been asked to wear masks in grocery stores.
50 US States Under Disaster Declaration
Murphy on Saturday said that some people might find it not easy, and uncomfortable, but what is inconvenient, is you getting affected by the coronavirus, and ending up in hospitals, or infecting your family member.
Further, Murphy added that the state has so far experienced 58, 000 cases of the coronavirus and 2, 200 is the fatality number. The state with many numbers in New York so far which contributes to one-third of the total cases in the country.
He further added that new cases, have been slowed, and the curve seems to be flatter now.
Trump has praised, the declaration in his tweet,” For the first time in history there is a fully signed Presidential Disaster Declaration for all 50 States. We are winning, and will win, the war on the Invisible Enemy!”
Pentagon is making move, to fill the required protective equipment, the first project under Defence Production Act.
This project undertaken by some companies will ensure the mass production of N-95 masks as said by the Pentagon. Though, the name of companies has not been revealed.
