FIR In Attempt To Create Caste-Based Conflict, Hathras Gang-Rape

On Monday, officials said that an FIR has been launched by the Hathras police against unknown persons for an attempt to create a caste-based conflict. Serious charges have been invoked on them which also include sedition charges.

The UP Police have also claimed that they have discovered an international plot to defame the Yogi government and trigger riot based on caste.

The first information report (FIR) was lodged at the Chandpa police station on Sunday afternoon and names unidentfied people as accused, according to police officials.

As reported by the Indian Express, a website – justiceforhathrasvictim.carrd.co – which advertised information on how to protest safely and avoid the police has been linked to the “conspiracy”.

However, the site is currently unavailable, reported Indian Express.

19 charges under the IPC have been mentioned in FIR. Charges include 124A, 505, and 135A. As per FIR, the Police has also invoked section 67 of the IT Act. A police officer also told PTI that statements by the UP government were being forged, manipulated and circulated via social media.

The officer further said that some accused are distributing materials that could lead to caste-based conflict. The Hathras police have so far registered several complaints under the IT Act in relation to the Dalit’s girl case which is being probed by the Cyber cell.

The victim died in Safdarjung Hospital of Delhi. As per post-mortem report, the victim had a fracture of “C6 cervical vertebra” and along the fracture line, there were extravasations of blood. Also, the post-mortem report denies of any rape charges.

The UP police cremated the victim’s body in the midnight, without affirmation with the victim’s family members. However, the uP Police said that the cremation was done as per wishes of the family.

Meanwhile, CM Yogi Adityanath said on Monday that his opponents were conspiring against him by trying to lay a
foundation for caste and communal riots through international funding. “For last one week, opposition parties were keen to see riots. We need to move forward amidst all these conspiracies,” he said.
