In Delhi, a minor was brutally raped and critically injured. The girl was raped and injured with a sharp weapon in Paschim Vihar area of the national capital. She was admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital on August 4 evening by the Delhi Police in a blood-soaked condition.
CM Arvind Kejriwal visited the minor on Thursday in AIIMS. He had also announced a help of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the 12-year0old child.
CM Kejriwal said that the doctors told him that the next 48 hours are very crucial to the girl. He further said that he has spoken to SN Srivastava, the police commissioner, and the people responsible for the crime will receive the harshest punishment.
DCW Chief Swati Maliwal on Twitter said that the girl had bite marks all over her body along with multiple fractures on the head. She added that the minor has been brutally assaulted to the extent that every part of her body has marks of injury.
She also accused the police of delay in arresting the accused.
The Delhi Police said that it has taken the case registered under POCSO at PS Paschim Vihar “seriously”. “It is a sensitive case. Delhi Police is making all efforts to catch the culprit. Delhi Police has already scanned through CCTV’s and is questioning suspects on the basis of the same. Delhi police is hopeful for making headway in the case,” said a police official.
The minor’s body has deep wounds and her private parts are constantly bleeding. After initial treatment, the team of doctors referred her to AIIMS.
Currently, the child is undergoing treatment at AIIMS and her condition is said to be critical. According to the police, the incident took place with the girl at a time when she was alone. The police have started an investigation by registering a case against the unknown under POCSO and attempt to murder. Till now the police has not been able to trace the accused.
