Now, the novel coronavirus has three new symptoms, added by the United States Centres for Disease Control. The coronavirus has a total of twelve symptoms. The three new symptoms include nausea or vomiting, runny nose, and diarrhoea. However, these new symptoms revealed now, their addition completed on May 13.
CDC added signs like chills, headache, sore throat, loss of smell or taste, muscle pain as symptoms in April. Further, other symptoms include cough, fever, and breath shortness.
CDC updated the coronavirus traits list on May 13. It said that these possible symptoms are not complete. Further, it said that the list would be updated as they would come to know more about the coronavirus.
The CDC in April marked “runny nose” under rare traits of the novel coronavirus. It also added that sneezing was not been identified as a sign of the coronavirus. “People with Covid-19 have had a wide range of signs reported, ranging from mild symptoms to severe illnesses,” the CDC said in a statement in April. “These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.” The health body also laid out a set of emergency warning signs for Covid-19 that require immediate medical attention – including persistent pain or pressure in the chest, trouble breathing, new confusion, and bluish lips or face.

As per the results after the trials, dexamethasone reduced the death rate by around a third among the most severely ill COVID-19 patients admitted to hospital. This steroid used to decrease inflammation in diseases such as arthritis. Remdesivir, another drug found effective in battling against the coronavirus.
So far, the United States has reported over 25 lakh cases of the coronavirus, including more than 1.25 lakh deaths, according to the Johns Hopkins University. Globally, the coronavirus has infected 10,001,527 people and claimed 4,99,124 lives. More than 50 lakh people have recovered.
