Patanjali Ayurved Can Sell Coronil But Not As 'Cure' For Coronavirus

On Wednesday, Patanjali Ayurved on Wednesday said that there are no government restrictions on selling Coronil. Patanjali Ayurved, the Ramdev’s herbal medicine company recently launched ‘Coronil tablet. They claim that these medicines can completely cure COVID-19 patients within seven days.

In Haridwar, at a press conference, Ramdev said that the AYUSH Ministry has said that Patanjali did an “an appropriate job for COVID-19 management”.

Further, The government affirmed that Patanjali Ayurved can sell Coronil but not for curing Coronavirus, PTI reported.

The PTI reported that the AYUSH Ministry said it has only given permission to sell this particular formulation as an immunity booster and not as a medicinal cure for COVID-19.

Further, Ramdev added that he wants to tell people who wish to try medicines that there is no restriction in the selling of Coronil now. He added that from today, Coronil kit will be available everywhere in the country.

The AYUSH Ministry further asked him to replace the word “COVID treatment” with “COVID management”, said Ramdev.
Earlier the Ayush Ministry has asked Patanjali Ayurved for stopping any further advertising and claiming of their medicine.

The company stood firm to its claim that Coronil’s trial on moderately ill patients was successful even after the company was backlashed for false claims.

Patanjali said the AYUSH Ministry has “categorically agreed” that the company had “appropriately worked on COVID-19 management”.
“Now there is no difference of opinion between AYUSH Ministry and Patanjali,” it added.

“As per the ministry, Patanjali is allowed to manufacture and distribute its Diva Coronil tablet, Divya Swasari Vati and Divya Anu Talia across India, as per the manufacturing licences granted by State Licensing Authority, Ayurvedic and Unani Services, Govt of Uttarakhand,” it said.

So far, India has reported 585K confirmed cases of the coronavirus, including 17,400 deaths. Globally, the coronavirus has infected 10.5 Million people and claimed 512K lives. Over 5.37 Million people have recovered.
