RS Prasad: We Have To Popularise Work From Home, Relaxations Extended Till 31st July

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that work from the home regulations has to be popularised. Ravi Shankar Prasad added on Tuesday that there are many restrictions for work from the home like money deposits and clearances, these things were relaxed till April 30 due to nation-wide lockdown amid COVID-19 pandemic. We have decided to continue the relaxations for IT companies till July 31.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad stated that work from home for the Information Technology companies will be continued till July 31, adding that 85% work of the IT companies is being done from home. Earlier, the WFH was supposed to end on April 30. Ravi Shankar Prasad held a conversation with the state IT Ministers and officials via video conferencing on Tuesday.

The state IT ministers also said that a lot of relaxations were given for WFH and IT Secretary, and Comm Secretary gave presentations of their units citing needs and expectations by the Central government from the state departments. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said while asking the participants to encourage young entrepreneurs investing in new startups we will aspire that WFH should become a new norm.

Ravi Shankar Prasad said while speaking to media persons, that Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Modi has asked to develop an app where the best strategies of all states to reduce the spread of COVID-19 outbreak will be shared. Union Law Minister said we have accepted the suggestion given by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi. I have asked the NEGD &  NIC to prepare an app. Both the National E-Governance Division and National Informatics Centre have agreed to develop an app in 3 days.

The Union Minister praised the department for making the Arogya Setu app a success, adding that the Arogya Setu app has to be taken forward.
