Shivraj Singh Chouhan, MP Chief Minister Tests COVID-19 +ve

On Saturday, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the CM of Madhya Pradesh tested positive for the coronavirus. He tweeted this news on twitter. Earlier, Arvind Bhadoria, the Cabinet Minister had also tested positive for the coronavirus.

Bhadoria travelled to Lucknow along with the CM to attend the Governor Lalji Tondon’s funeral.

Taking to Twitter, Chouhan said: “I was showing symptoms of Covid-19. I went through the tests and the results have proven to be positive. I urge all those who came in contact with me in recent days to get themselves tested. All those close to me should go into quarantine.

“I will follow all the guidelines (as mandated by the government)'” he said. He added that doctor has advised him to go into quarantine. He further appealed everyone to be careful of this infection and not to get careless. He added that he tried to remain safe but he had to meet with people regarding various issues.

Moreover, he also said that from now onwards he will hold all his meeting via video-conferencing. Further, the CM said that if COVID-19 infected patient is treated on time then he can recover easily. “I hold regular meetings every evening to monitor the pandemic situation in the state. From now on, I shall hold the same via video conference,” CM said.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan told that during his quarantine period the Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra, Bhupendra Singh who is an Urban development Minister, Vishwas Sarang who is a Medical Education Minister, and Health Minister Dr Prabhuram Chaudhary will be chairing all his meetings.

Madhya Pradesh recorded 26,210 Covid-19 cases so far.

Meanwhile, Covaxin, India’s first developed vaccine against the coronavirus, started its first phase of human trial. The human trial began at Delhi’s AIIMS. The first dose of the injection was given to a 30-year-old man.

Vaccine’s phase 1 will be done on people who are healthy and ranging between aged 18-55 years. In the trial of the vaccine’s first phase, non-pregnant women will also be selected.
The second phase of the clinical trial of the vaccine, people ageing 12-65 years will be recruited.
