In the TIME magazine’s list of 100 “Most Influential People of 2020” there is also an 82-year-old Indian woman. Bilkis Dadi, the old woman, became the face of the Shaheen Bagh protests in Delhi. Along with her the list also includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi and actor Ayshmann Khurrana.
The annual list of the magazine highlights pioneers, artists, titans, leaders and icons “who have had the most impact this year”.
Under “Leaders” category, PM Narendra Modi’s name is there and under the category of “Icons”, Bilkis- Dadi of Shaheen Bagh has been featured.

Shaheen Bagh of Delhibeacme the heart of protestors for anti-CAA or CAA protests since hundreds of people who were mostly women sat for around 100 days amid the chilling winters of Delhi to protest against the CAA.
The TIME magazine said that Bilkis became the voice of the marginalized in India, written by journalist and writer Rana Ayyub of the TIME magazine.
On every day of protests, Bilkis sat in the front row of protestors. She is among the ‘Dadis of Shaheen Bagh’.
“With prayer beads in one hand and the national flag in the other, Bilkis became the voice of the marginalized in India, an 82-year-old who would sit at a protest site from 8 a.m. to midnight,” it says.
“Look at the protest where we are. It is not that only Muslims are protesting. Come and see how many people are distributing food.
They are from all religions. Someone is giving us bananas, some giving us juice and biscuits,” Bilkis had told NDTV in January, reported NDTV.
The others featured on the magazine’s list include Google CEO Sundar Pichai, US President Donald Trump, Democratic vice-presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Professor Ravindra Gupta.
